Carolyn S. Klaiman, Esq., APM* is a founding member of the firm. She is accredited as a professional mediator by the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators and also completed training in Interdisciplinary Collaborative Practice. She specializes in matrimonial law and mediation, focusing on both contested and uncontested divorces, child custody issues, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and other family law matters. Prior to specializing in family law, Ms. Klaiman had extensive experience in criminal, civil and commercial litigation for over fifteen years. She received advanced trial training at the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and has been extremely successful representing her clients both inside and outside of the courtroom. Ms. Klaiman received her mediation training at the Institute for Dispute Resolution of New Jersey. She is on the New Jersey Administrative Office of the Courts' roster of mediators for economic aspects of family law cases and the roster of mediators for Somerset County Parenting and Custody. Ms. Klaiman has appeared on Krasney's on Everything Money, a weekly radio program which focuses on financial planning matters and continues to lecture on mediation and collaborative divorce for various professional organizations, including the Somerset County Bar Association Family Law Section. She has served the community as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Growing Stage and the Suburban Community Music Center. Ms. Klaiman is a graduate of Smith College and the Hofstra University School of Law. She is admitted to the bars of New Jersey and New York, the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey, U.S. District Court, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, U.S. Court of Appeals, Second and Third Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court. Ms. Klaiman is a member of the New Jersey State, Morris County and Somerset County Bar Associations, an accredited member of the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators, member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, and The New Jersey Collaborative Law Group. Ms. Klaiman is on the Board of Directors for the New Jersey Collaborative Law Group and is the Chair of the Standards and Practices Committee. |

| Patricia E. Carney Esq., APM * is a founding member of the firm. She is accredited as a professional mediator by the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators and also completed training in Interdisciplinary Collaborative Practice. After a successful career in accounting and finance, with major multinational firms, Ms. Carney completed her law degree at the S.I. Newhouse Center for Law and Justice at Rutgers University. She was a clerk to the Honorable John Garrett Penn, Chief Judge, U.S. District Court, District of Columbia. She concentrates her practice in matrimonial law, including contested and uncontested divorce actions, child custody matters, adoptions, domestic violence, international family law matters, and mediation. She is a zealous advocate for her clients at the trial level as well as in appellate actions. Ms. Carney has complimented her practical court room experience with advanced trial training at the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. She received her mediation training at the Institute for Dispute Resolution of New Jersey. Ms. Carney is a court-approved, accredited mediator and is on the New Jersey Administrative Office of the Courts' roster of mediators for economic aspects of family law cases and the roster of mediators for Somerset County Parenting and Custody. She is a frequent lecturer on mediation and collaborative divorce for various professional organizations. Ms. Carney is admitted to the bar of New Jersey and the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey. She is a member of the New Jersey State, Morris County and Somerset County Bar Associations, an accredited member of the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators and a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Ms. Carney is the president of the New Jersey Collaborative Law Group. She is on the Board of Directors for the New Jersey Collaborative Law Group and the New Jersey Council of Collaborative Practice Groups. |
