What is Mediation? |
| Mediation is a court-approved process in which a trained mediator plays a neutral role in assisting, facilitating and encouraging parties to reach an agreement. In a relaxed environment, you and your spouse are encouraged by a skilled mediator to resolve your own disputes. You make your own decisions with the help of an impartial third party. You decide what is best for you and your family, rather than having attorneys or the Court decide for you. |
| |
How does Mediation Work? |
| Mediation allows a couple to explore options for settlement of their marital disputes in a caring, non-adversarial setting. Impartial accredited mediators help both of you explore all the options, look for creative solutions and help you reach your own agreement that is set forth in a Memorandum of Understanding. You are then ready for lawyers to review your agreement. The lawyers file the papers with the Court for an uncontested divorce. |

How can our Attorneys Assist with the Mediation Process? |
| Our attorneys are dedicated to helping parties reach fair and sensible agreements through mediation. This alternative approach enables parties to control the course of events and drastically reduces the financial and emotional cost associated with adversarial proceedings. Our lawyers have years of experience in family law and mediation. Each of our lawyers is an accredited mediator by the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators. We are aware of the emotional and financial difficulties our clients face during the divorce process and focus on easing our clients’ anxieties and concerns. This firm understands the need to consider the best interests of a divorcing couple and their children so that as smooth a transition as possible can occur as the marriage dissolves. |
